Terms of Service

By browsing finishingmaterial.com, requesting a quote or placing an order you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site. You must be at least 18 and able to enter into a binding contract.

Accounts are identified by email address and secured with a one-time code or magic link rather than a password. Anyone with access to your email inbox can therefore reach your order history — keep that inbox secure. Tell us at contact@finishingmaterial.com if you believe someone else has reached your account.

We sell flooring, doors, windows and cabinets. We photograph and describe products as accurately as we can, but colour, grain and finish vary between production runs and between screens. Order a sample before committing if exact colour matters — that is what samples are for.

Visualisations produced by the design tools are illustrative previews. They are not a guarantee of how the finished room will look.

Stock is finite and is not reserved until an order is paid. If something you ordered turns out to be unavailable we will contact you and offer an alternative, a wait, or a full refund.

Quotes — including instant quotes, measured quotes and price-match decisions — are based on the measurements, materials and site conditions known at the time. A quote is an invitation to order, not a binding contract, and is valid for 30 days unless it says otherwise.

If the measurements change, the site conditions turn out to differ, or a supplier changes price before you order, we will re-quote rather than absorb it silently. Quote-only products are priced individually and are not sold at a shelf price.

Placing an order is an offer to buy. The contract forms when we confirm that order by email. Prices are in US dollars and exclude sales tax and delivery unless stated.

We reprice every order on our own server before charging it. If a price shown to you was wrong — a pricing error, a stale cached page, or a manipulated request — we will not simply charge a different amount: we will contact you with the correct price, and you may proceed or cancel for a full refund.

Payment is processed by Stripe. Made-to-order and quote-only items are invoiced once specified.

Delivery dates are estimates, not guarantees, and depend on carrier and manufacturer schedules. Inspect your delivery on arrival and report visible damage or shortages within 48 hours so we can claim against the carrier. Where we arrange installation, its scope and price are set out in your quote.

Returns are governed by our Returns & Refunds policy, which forms part of these terms. In short: 30 days, original unopened packaging, a restocking fee, and made-to-order, cut, installed and sample items are final sale.

The site — its text, photography, product imagery, design tools and layout — belongs to FinishingMaterial or to our suppliers, and is protected by copyright and trade mark law. You may not copy, scrape, republish or resell it without written permission. Manufacturer brand names and logos remain the property of their owners and appear here to identify the goods we sell.

You agree not to:

• use the site unlawfully, or to defraud us or another customer;
• submit measurements, addresses or price-match evidence you know to be false;
• scrape, bulk-download, probe or overload the site, or attempt to bypass pricing, stock or authentication logic;
• upload anything unlawful, or any image you do not hold the rights to.

Measurements are yours. The quantities you supply — square footage, door size, handing, bore — determine what we order and cut, and made-to-order items cannot be returned. Please check them, or ask us to measure for you.

Products carry the manufacturer’s warranty; we pass those claims through and help you make them. Beyond that — and beyond the rights you hold under California law, which nothing here removes — the site and its content are provided “as is”.

We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost time, lost profit or the cost of a delayed project. Where liability cannot lawfully be excluded it is limited to the amount you paid for the order in question. Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, and any dispute belongs to the courts of that state. We may update these terms; the effective date at the top always shows the current version, and continuing to use the site after a change means you accept it.
